Request for Proposal
Fully Automatic High-Capacity Case Packing System (Replacement)
Quotation Window November 1st 2025 till February 1st 2026
Background
Polar Krush currently produces outer cases containing inner cases of bagged flavouring. The existing case packing system is now obsolete and no longer fit for purpose. Due to increased production demand, Polar Krush is seeking to replace the current system with a new fully automatic, high-capacity pick-and-place case packing solution.
Existing Process Overview
• Outer cases are formed by an existing case erector and presented to the case packing station.
• Erected outer cases are held in position, ready for filling.
• Inner cases are produced upstream by an existing primary case packer.
• Inner cases are conveyed from the primary case packer via roller conveyor.
• An existing Endoline roller conveyor receives the inner cases and orients them correctly for packing.
• Inner cases are packed into outer cases before being sealed by an existing Endoline case sealer.
Required Production Sequence
The proposed system shall operate as follows:
1. The existing case erector forms and presents outer cases to the case packing system.
2. Outer cases are held securely in position for loading.
3. Inner cases are supplied from the existing primary case packer via roller conveyor.
4. The Endoline roller conveyor transfers inner cases to the case packer in the correct orientation.
5. A 2D pick-and-place mechanism picks inner cases in pairs.
6. Paired inner cases are placed into the outer case.
7. Once fully packed, the outer case exits the case packer.
8. Packed outer cases are transferred through the existing Endoline case sealer.
Scope of Supply
The supplier’s scope shall include, but not be limited to:
• Fully automatic 2D pick-and-place case packing machine
• Infeed conveyor system, including guides, stops, and braking mechanisms
• Case packer passthrough / discharge conveyor
• Mechanical and electrical integration with existing:
o Case erector
o Endoline case sealer
• New product setup on existing erector and sealer, including:
o New erector tooling / plates
o Required software modifications
• Delivery, installation, commissioning, and site acceptance testing
• Operator and maintenance training
Additional Notes
• The proposed solution must be suitable for high-capacity operation and future scalability.
• Suppliers should detail system throughput, footprint, utilities, and changeover requirements in their proposal.
